Checkout The States Basketmouth Plans To Lead If Elected As Governor In 2019

Popular comedian, Bright Okpocha, fondly known as ‘Basketmouth’ has shared a poster of him indicating his interest to run for Governorship.

With this past week seeing the coming out of some celebrities to declare their political interests in the upcoming governorship elections, comedian Basketmouth decided to join in the trend.

However, what is surprising to many is that he said he will be running for the post across six states as he took to Instagram to share his ‘campaign poster’ and captioned the picture:

‘Why run for 1 state when you can run for 6 states?’

Other celebrities include the self-acclaimed king of rap Vic O, Akpako master Terry G and others.

Drake Promises The Weeknd Collaboration Album “Has To Happen”

While both Drake and The Weeknd have enjoyed long and lucrative careers as solo artists, the fans know they have a musical chemistry that works wonders. In fact, Abel has previously told Zane Lowe that he would be open for a collaboration with Drake, comparing the potential joint endeavor to Watch The Throne, the acclaimed brainchild of Kanye and Jay-Z. Seeing as The Weeknd and Drake are two of the biggest artists in the world, the album would inevitably break at least one streaming records.

Well, fans might not have to wait much longer. At Drake’s star-studded OVO Fest, Aubrey and Abel joined forces to perform “Starboy,” “The Hills,” and “Crew Love,” the track that basically started it all. After the performance, Drake basically pulled the “we should hang out more” card, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd.

“I want you to understand what this is,” begins Drizzy. “First of all, I don’t want to do this to you on stage, but I feel like that OVOXO project has to happen at some point. I just want to say that.”

The crowd responds as you’d expect, with riotous applause. Ultimately, nothing may come of this at all, but at least both parties acknowledged that they’re willing and able to make it happen. Check out footage of the pseudo-announcement below.

Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill Take Shots At Each Other On Instagram

Somehow it was all inspired by Jay-Z’s “4:44.”
There are certainly some albums that could inspire you to lash out at your ex, but we didn’t think Jay-Z’s redemptive new LP 4:44 would be one of them. It appears that Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have exchanged some subliminal shots over Instagram, and it all started with a Nicki caption inspired by Jay’s Tidal exclusive.

Making reference to Jay’s vow to “never go Eric Benet” and lose the “baddest girl in the world,” Nicki threw out some advice of her own. “Oh so u n***az gon sit up here & act like #Wifeyaint BEEN telly’all 1. Don’t lose the baddest girl in the world. #EricBenet 2. Stop throwing money ya ass ain’trlly got. 3. Stop posting them tired stacks on the gram oh but when Jay say it it’s #bible tho… We ain’t BEEN droppin jewels on these n***az behind closed doors?” she wrote in a post that some assumed to be directed at Meek. Judging by the Philly rapper’s since-deleted post, he was among them.

Meek shared what seemed to be a response to Nicki’s remarks shortly thereafter, calling out “fake b***es,” before seemingly making some threats in his hashtags. “Fake skin color… fake weaves…. fake ass … fake mileage … fake nails…. fake friends etc … can somebody speak up,” he wrote. “When you finally see them without everything on n***as be sick forreal #dontmakeme #youknowimsavage #howdareyou.”

Of course, no names were used within either caption. While Meek’s post has been deleted, Nicki’s remains. Read the full posts above.

This is not the first time the rappers have clashed since their breakup last year. In May, Meek seemed to diss Nicki on a track from his Meekend Music EP. The two have also been observed taking indirect jabs at one another on Instagram in the past.

50 Cent Responds To Conor McGregor Calling Him A “Bitch”

50 Cent claps back at Conor McGregor.

As you’re probably well aware, the press tour for the much-hyped fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is underway. During a Brooklyn stop at the Barclay Center, McGregror set his sights on some hip-hop greats, invoking both Jay-Z and Mayweather’s pal 50 Cent. The Irish warrior trollishly handed Floyd a copy of Jigga’s 4:44, imploring him to study and learn how to create a “real empire.”

then told him to pass the album along to 50 Cent, before unleashing his wrath upon the Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ rapper. “50 Cent’s a bitch!” cries McGregor. “You and 50 are two fake money bitches. He’s bankrupt, and you’re about to be.”

It didn’t take long for 50 Cent to fire off some shots of his own. Never one to shy away from a bit of trolling, 50 posted a few Instagram shots aimed at McGregor;

Drake Jokingly Responds To Jay-Z’s Criticism Of The “Money Phone” Pose

“What they say? Don’t put money to your ear? Oh, I didn’t hear that.”

Jay-Z’s 4:44 contained many lessons for rap’s younger generation, but one particular line about the popular “money phone” pose has garnered a considerable reaction. “Y’all on the ‘gram holdin’ money to your ear,” said Jay on “The Story Of O.J.” “There’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here.”

It’s already been speculated that Future had a subliminal response to the line, and now Drake has come with his own light-hearted take on the criticism.

A video has made its way online of Drake pressing two fat stacks of cash to his ears and seemingly joking about Jay’s bar. “What they say? Don’t put money to your ear? Oh, I didn’t hear that,” he says with a grin. Now that Drake and Future have each thrown their support behind the “money phone” pose, it might not be going away anytime soon.

Drake was eager to hear Jay-Z’s 4:44 album the night it dropped, reportedly requesting the project to be played over the speakers in a Baltimore restaurant he was eating at. It’s often been speculated that Drake and Jay-Z have taken subliminal shots at one another on record, most recently with a few vague bars Hov rapped on DJ Khaled’s “Shining.”

Jay-Z Stands To Lose Up To $1 Million A Week Withholding “4:44” From Spotify

It could be an expensive protest of the streaming service’s free tier, according to experts.

After releasing 4:44 and exclusive to Tidal and Sprint customers for one week, Jay-Z shared his 13th studio album across all platforms — with the curious exception of Spotify. As the world’s leading streaming service, it was clear that Jay’s decision to withhold the album from Spotify would be a financial sacrifice, and a new report from Billboard has provided some estimates on just how much money the rapper has opted out of.

An industry source suggests that Jay would potentially make up to $1 million in his debut week on Spotify, even if he were to upload it three weeks after release. The estimate is based on Drake’s album VIEWS, which saw a massive spike in streams when it made its way to Spotify after being hosted exclusively be Apple Music for one week. However, another source is not as set on Jay breaking six figures, projecting that his debut on Spotify would generate somewhere around $250,000 in its first week. It’s built on the assumption that the full album would earn as many weekly streams as the service’s most popular song, Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” remix with Justin Bieber.

The sources believe that Jay Z’s decision to keep his music off Spotify while shipping it to fellow Tidal competitor Apple Music is a protest against the free streaming tier. Spotify is the only service of the big 3 that offers subscribers the option to listen to music for free, as long as they are willing to sit through a few ads. The sources suspect that Jay feels a free tier of streaming works towards “devaluing music.” Jay-Z has not given an official statement on his reasoning behind the decision.

Lil Twist Says He and Lil Wayne Are The Only People With “Carter V” On Their Phones

“C5 is fucking crazy… It’s berserk.”

Lil Wayne’s long-awaited album Tha Carter V may not be available to the public anytime soon, but it hasn’t stopped Young Money signee Lil Twist from putting in on his phone. In a new interview with HipHopDX, the rapper revealed that he is one of two people who has the full project on his phone; the other being Wayne himself.

“C5 is fucking crazy,” he said. “I can’t wait ‘til y’all hear it. I’m the only person outside of him that got it on my phone. It’s fucking crazy. It’s berserk. He got a lot of features on that. He working with Mannie Fresh on the album again. That’s gonna be good for the people.”

In a 2015 interview with Montreality, Mannie Fresh confirmed that he was working on the project. “We kinda went back to that original Cash Money feel, like you know what I’m saying, what you grew up on,” he said. “Like, the Mannie Fresh sound that you knew Wayne and Mannie did, the chemistry. So it’s more of that original, that first Carter.”

As for the features Twist speaks of, Wayne shared a tentative in a PSA video from October 2015. It included guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, and Justin Bieber.

Twist may be the only other person who has C5 on his personal device, but we know that “pharma bro” Martin Shkreli has acquired the album in some form as well. Shkreli previewed snippets of the album via a livestream before reportedly being warned against doing so by Wayne’s team. A few months later, he was back at it, previewing a track from the album that featured Kendrick Lamar.

According to Twist, Wayne is in good spirits despite the ongoing legal battle that has left his album in release purgatory. “He’s doing great,” said Twist. “He’s working every day as usual.”

Beyonce Spotted Roller Skating in Los Angeles

Beyonce continues to enjoy her new residence in the City of Angels.

Not long ago, JAY-Z and Beyonce relocated to a home in Los Angeles following the birth of their twins.

As they continue to settle into their new abode, the couple has been out on a few simple excursions without their children. The most recent of which included a date night that featured snaps of the two sipping wine in a private setting.

Newly, the two stepped out with a group of friends as they made their way to Los Angeles’ World on Wheels to go skating, a favorite past time of the songstress.

Keeping it lowkey while outfitted with a pretty thick entourage, Queen Bey managed to go undetected for a while before being swarmed by fans after her spot was blown.

JAY-Z decided to stay off the skates, opting to watch from the sidelines instead, even reportedly chopping it up with the owner of the joint.

Snoop Dogg Debuts Gospel Project Featuring Fred Hammond

Snoop Dogg is giving the world a glimpse of his gospel music album, which already features a famous voice in gospel music, Fred Hammond.

The rap mogul, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., took to Instagram to preview his gospel project Bible of Love for fans. In the preview video clip, Hammond’s signature voice can be heard praising God.

“He did it for me he’ll do it for you, same God,” Hammond croons in the audio track that Snoop can be seen lip syncing to.

The 45-year-old hip hop veteran announced that he would create a gospel album earlier in an interview with Beats 1 Radio.

I’m working on a gospel album. It’s always been on my heart,” he said. “I just never got around to it because I always be doing gangsta business and doing this and doing that. But I just feel like it’s been on my heart too long.”The rapper hailing from Long Beach, California, had already given fans a glimpse of what his gospel music may sound like. Last year, he turned Pastor Shirley Caesar’s 1988 song “Hold My Mule” into a holiday song called “U Name It Holiday Anthem.”

In Snoop’s version of the song, he raps over a DJ Battlecat production and uses Caesar’s now famous line, “I got beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes” as his hook. The rapper includes spiritual undertones in his rhymes while describing his holiday feast and even making reference to gospel musician and broadcast personality Bobby Jones.

“Up early with Shirley in the kitchen on a mission with hams and yams mac and cheese for the chickens/ Collard greens is finger licking, me with the denim. Bobby Jones on the television/ Granny say grace for us and aunty making plates for us,” he raps in the song that is available on iTunes. “We’re the gift that keeps on giving praise God we keep on living. BC what you want me to say bow your heads for a second take a moment to pray.”

While it seems Snoop is trying to turn over a new leaf musically, he has recently released content that has raised some eyebrows. Earlier this year, he appeared in the remixed version of Canadian group BADBADNOTGOOD’s song “Lavender.”

In the music video, the rapper could be seen shooting a toy gun at a clown dressed as President Donald Trump. Instead of bullets, the word “bang” was released from the gun but that didn’t make the president feel any better about the matter.

Trump took to Twitter to speak out about the music video, taking his own proverbial shot at Snoop’s music career

“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama,” Trump tweeted. “Jail time!”“

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio also spoke out about Snoop’s appearance in the music video, saying that it could give the wrong people the wrong ideas.

Snoop shouldn’t have done that. We’ve had presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is something people should be really careful about,” Rubio told TMZ . “[If the] wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea, you could have a real problem.”

Shining A Light: Frank Edwards Changes A Beggar’s Life | @frankrichboy

Frank Edwards Changes A Beggar’s Life

Words are important mediums used to convey messages, ideas, directions and more, so that the listener may be inspired to firstly believe and then take steps to act on these words. In gospel music, there’s a whole lot of meaningful and inspiring messages loaded into song lyrics (words) with a definite purpose of making someone’s life better and getting them to know Christ. But beyond the words and song lyrics comes the action and the part where we show examples of what we preach and sing.

Frank Edwards is among one of the many gospel artists in Nigeria who are reaching out as a source of hope and strength to kids out there in the streets needing help. The Award winning gospel music artist took out time to reach out to a homeless kid named Daniel who has been living in the streets, under the bridge for two years. Taking it upon himself to change the boy’s life, Frank brought hope to this young lad. He went beyond singing the words of a song, by doing something actionable with the gospel.

It is an inspiring story that portrays us as God’s outstretched hands to our world .This is just one of the many things Frank is involved in, changing and inspiring lives. There are lots of gospel artists making impact and reaching out to the needy and left-out of our immediate society . We celebrate and encourage them to keep up the work, together lets go beyond the lyrics to change our world and live the example. Selah.

Davido’s “Pere”. . With All The International Acts, I Am Still Disappointed

If I give you 1 Pere
You’ll be coming back to me, you’ll be begging for more

Review by Frank_Future (Frank_Future)

These days, lots of soft sell music have been churned out to the cyber space, the likes of Speed Darlington and the Bangdadadang craze will only be a distraction to the subject matter at hand.

The title of this review suggests a disappointment in Davido’s Pere irrespective of the international acts that graced the song. Really?

I’m not a big fan of Davido but honestly speaking, I do not feel disappointed in any way.

On Pere, Davido keeps it real as he still stays true to his sound despite the fact that the tune was produced by DJ Mustard who happens to be a renowned hip-hop producer.

On the record, Davido has shown us how confident he is with his style of music and it’s evident to note that the OBO isn’t ready to bend just to get the international accolades.

Also, the featured acts vibed to the tune under no duress.

Talking of the video, Sesan Ogunro should be applauded for this masterpiece. The directorial approach was certainly on point.

Lest I forget, all featured acts, Rae Sremmurd & Young Thug were present in the cut. And the chemistry? I need not say much.

NB: Not all songs are meant to top the chart.

Review by Frank_Future

Davido, Davido, Davido.

The hustle is indeed 125 these days now. Pardon me for saying but this is not world class music at all. It is however the next best and closest, Davido has come at making a world class attempt. The first of course being the Meek Mill feature, Fans Mi.

Can anybody else hear how inconsistent the mix on the song was, with our dear Davido’s parts sounding the worst? At this point in the OBO’s career, the delivery of his works should be blemish free with the kind of exposure and  experience he has. What then is the brag on this international shandalooloo about if the presentation of his package has the appearance of an aspiring local? Let’s be brutally honest, can this record match up to those by his colleagues abroad? The Young Thugs and Rae Sremmurds?

Regardless, shoutout to OBO for the music video, it is very top notch and the blend amongst the artistes is quite admirable. Davido is one young stunna setting the Nigerian standard for what music should be, especially in pictures. But because he has chosen to remain unsusceptible on the need for proper creative direction in his music, he has failed and therefore lags behind on attempts at pulling the lead.

Frank says not all songs should top the charts. True that, I’m in total agreement even. But music atleast is impression… and Davido’s Pere is devoid of any.

‘Rashida Black Beauty Is A Witch And An Agent Of Satan’ – Popular Prophhet Claims

The Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha has slammed Rashidatu Mohammed who caused a stir on social media after her n*de was leaked.

According to him, the 2016 Jigwe Award winner whose controversial video popularized the term ‘malafaka’ is mentally derailed and needs physiological treatment urgently.

Rashida Black Beauty as she is popularly known was seen displaying her private parts in the 2 minute explicit clip which has gone viral.

Reaction on social media has mostly been that of disappointment with many condemning the teenager who was once hailed for taking a jab at her ex-boyfriend.

Rashidatu Mohammed has since apologized, suggesting the video was not meant for the public.

But Prophet Kumchacha in an interview on Kofi TV is convinced the young lady needs help.

He explained that, if Rashida is not a witch to lure men into her camp, then she is mentally sick.

You Are The Reason I’m Wicked – Nollywood Actres, Patience Ozokwor Tells Fans

While speaking in an exclusive interview with Saturday Tribune, Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwor, opened up on her widely known role as a wicked mother, wife and mother-in-law.

“If I am wicked, it is because you love it. I always want to make you happy,” she said as she talked about some of her movie roles.

Speaking further she said; “Sometimes, I cry when I watch some of the characters I had played in movies at home. I just thanked God it wasn’t the real me that was involved, but a character.

“Nearly all the movies where I played wicked roles made me cry because I remember what that character had done to somebody.

“I do these jobs to the best of ability because I want to sit down at home, watch and cry over what I’m doing to people.

“Two of the roles that caused me the most tears were: one role where I seized the feeding bottle of a month-old-baby and threw it away.

“I wept profusely after that scene that the director had to stop shooting until I was able to control myself. If someone had done it in real life, I would have exposed the fellow to the world to see.

“There was another one where I went to take my sister’s daughter from the village, what I did to the girl, if any human being can do it to a fellow human being, I don’t know what God would do to that person in turn. I met her in the kitchen, beat her so much that she fell down the stairs, rolled down and died from broken head and pains all over.

“I’d been playing wicked roles but those two movies are exceptionally horrible. I doubt that any human being would do that to anyone.”

On the morality of her roles, she said; “When I play the role of a bad woman, I see myself at that instance as a mirror through which I want society to see and appreciate the fact that it is not good to be bad.

“This is the reason I do it with so much passion that it becomes almost believable. I also see such roles as an opportunity to minister to lost and wicked souls that jealousy, hatred, envy and all the likes can only bring one to ruins.”

Some people think i am foolish – Mr Ibu

John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, is one of the most popular actors in the country and he certainly commands a huge fanbase in Nigeria.

While many may be willing to trade their limbs for the type of fame Mr. Ibu has, the comic actor is not entirely happy about his status.

He told Sunday Scoop,

“A lot of people think I’m stupid and foolish because of the roles I play in movies. At times, when I have something meaningful to say, people don’t take me serious as they think I’m cracking jokes. People also think that I’m an illiterate but that’s not true. I come from a humble background and I struggled a lot while growing up. My parents weren’t well-to-do so I had to hustle to get whatever I wanted by myself. We were basically living from hand to mouth and our situation was quite pathetic. However, despite our lack, I still considered education as a priority and I always had it at the back of my mind that I would keep learning. I attended the Institute of Management and Technology for my tertiary education though I was a part-time student.”

He also spoke of how hard it was for him to complete his schooling

He Said ;

“Due to lack of funds, there were times I had to stop schooling, but I always continued after sometime. What a lot of people don’t know about me is that I’m a deep thinker and I like to meditate on issues. For example, I have a lot of plans for Nollywood and I hope the government can pay more attention to this sector. Nollywood has helped to propagate Nigeria’s culture across the world, and even in far flung countries where you wouldn’t expect, they have seen Nollywood movies there. That should tell you that Nollywood is too important not to be taken serious. The industry really needs proper structures. It is not about running to the government and begging for money. Some people would just collect the money and share it among themselves; and that’s part of the reason the industry is still where it is. We have to step up our game as there are many things that can be gained from Nollywood. Entertainment is big business and it can even generate more money for the country than oil if it is well handled.

“I am the confluence of global cultural diversity” – Jim Iyke Says

Nigerian Actor and style icon, Jim Iyke, has taken to Instagram to share a picture of himself as he pen down a lengthy definition of what style means to him.

He disclosed that he is the confluence of global cultural diversity and added that God tailored him entirety for one entity; which is HIM.

He wrote:

Whether I’m rocking an overpriced jacket on the streets of champs elysees or rocking rubber flip flops soaking up the adulation of the street in the slums of kibera, it matters none. Unshaven for weeks with morning breathe rocking a palm oil stained old tee telling bad jokes with my sisters in my man cave or well groomed in handmade rare leather loafers makes no difference. It changes nothing.

I am the confluence of global cultural diversity. I’ve meticulously and resiliently self tutored its complexity into my DNA by trial and error. The originality is singular only the substance is duplicable. God tailored my entirety for one entity; ME.

It’s a comprise far from not only what you wear. It is how you think. Your principles. Your choices; costs and effects. Your idiosyncrasy. It’s in the roots imbibed by the man that sired you and men that mentored you.
Everything else around me is an Accessory. I am the essence. I give it life.

No brand, address, tribe, race, religion, creed, or ideology can define me. God created me this way eternities before my birth.
I cannot pretend to be anything else even if I wanted to. I’ve tried and failed woefully in the past. I am ridiculously comfortable and apt being me. Rules become inapplicable, even redundant. It’s an attitude. A way of life.

Perception is the window. It’s orchestrated conditioning to misinform you by disinforming you. Find your purpose and be informed. It is your open weapon.
I know people with $100 dollars budget walk into a room and everything stand still. I’ve seen people with $100k budget that make it look like a painful process and what is more cant hold a convo with a smart 8 year old.
It can’t be bought. It is and will always be priceless.

Once you’ve figured out this truth, you will strive for a reach beyond your grasp. A consciousness and profound understanding of self. It is the mastery of your space. Your individuality. Your flair. It’s in all of us whether dormant or dominant.

Find it. Train it. Fail it. Win it. Own it. Ostracize it.
This is STYLE. This is how I understand it.
Now how friggin DOPE is that!! #StylePiper #RainyBeautifulDay #ParisChronicles
