revealed real reason why cubana chief priest unfollowed mercy
We previously revealed a strained relationship between Big Brother Naija 2019 winner Mercy and the chief priest of Cuba. This came after he stopped following her on Instagram and removed all but one of her photos from his page.
There is now more information available about what transpired.
This is the story as reported by social media influencer Jude Bonnisson:
Following her spectacular performance at Cubana the night before, on Friday, the Cubana Chief Priest had earlier requested that Mercy spend the weekend in Owerri so that she could visit his restaurant, “The Angels.” Plans were made for entertainment to excite the crowd and generate a lot of sales at the Angels, with Bongo Music artists like Saro Wiwa and others scheduled to perform.

All of these ideas are admirable and would also be an act of gratitude for everything Chief Priest did to assist Mercy Eke, the BBNAIJA 2019 winner who was born in Owerri, during her stay in the house.
Contrarily, Mercy had previously inked a contract of endorsement with Mr. Taxi, a transportation company, on October 30, 2019, and was scheduled to attend their lunch at Oriental Hotels, Lagos, on November 2, 2019. This arrangement, as we gathered consistently, disappointed and destroyed Chief Priest’s plans to shut down Owerri with the hot-shot talent Mercy.
Undoubtedly, funds were expended to make her visit possible. Chief Priest was extremely disappointed, and his rage drove him to erase all recollections of the woman, even their most memorable exchanges. Mercy had to attend the opening of Mr. Taxi, who had just endorsed her a few days prior, even though he had wanted to greet and mingle. Chief Priest was very saddened by this.
