Eliminate bandits anywhere you find them- President Buhari orders troops (video)

President Buhari today gave a marching order to troops in the North East to eliminate any bandit in sight and restore peace in the region.

The President gave the order when he addressed 15 officers and 160 soldiers of the 17th Army Brigade and Nigerian Air Force 213 Operational Base in Katsina, under the “Operation Hadarin Daji’’, at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport, Katsina.

In his words..

This group was formed by the military to secure the geo-political zone from the activities of bandits. Fundamentally, it is your responsibility to secure the country. As the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, I believe you are capable of doing it.

I don’t think you should spare any bandit. Identify and eliminate them. Pursue them anywhere you can find them and eliminate them. Nigeria deserves peace. The rainy season is good and we are already achieving food security, but we need peace. The money saved from food importation will be used to purchase arms for operations.”

Aisha Buhari shakes a major table with her birthday message to John Odigie-Oyegun

Aisha Buhari is shaking a major table with her Instagram birthday post to immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, John Odigie-Oyegun.

The former APC National Chairman turned a year older recently and Mrs Buhari took to her IG page to wish him a Happy Birthday this morning.

Her post has however been implied to be a shade to the current Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole. Her post reads

Happy Birthday, Chief John Odigie Oyegun.
Former National Chairman of APC ,
A complete gentle man ,
A peace maker and a unifying factor of our time .
Wishing you many years ahead in good health and prosperity.

Some Nigerians interpreted her post describing Oyegun as a ”peacemaker and unifying factor” to be a sub for Oshiomole.

Alibaba Supports President Buhari On Non-Provision of Foreign Exchange For Food Importation

Alibaba supports President Buhari on non-provision of foreign exchange for food importation

Alibaba backed President Buhari on his directive to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stop issuing foreign exchange for food importation.

The ace comedian argued that it is a ban on forex for food importation and not on food importation. Alibaba further stated that people are in business to make money and should source for foreign exchange themselves instead of relying on CBN. He also called for same measure to be taken when Dangote’s refinery finally opens.

He wrote;

A BAN ON FOREX FOR FOOD IMPORT IS NOT A BAN ON FOOD IMPORT. YOU CAN IMPORT. JUST GO FIND YOUR FOREX.
_
About time… now if you want to import all your foreign food, source your forex by yasef. Shebi you are in the business to make money.
_
Once Dangote refinery opens, they should do the same for petroleum products. Find your money. NNPC should not be seen importing sef. It’s a shame. Fix your refineries. How come, all these boys are refining products with drums and firewood, yet we, as a country can’t?
_
When there was a ban on fruit juice importation, didn’t #5Alive #JustJuice#DonSimon and co leave? Didn’t that help #Chivita to dominate the market?
_
Let’s increase Electricity to 150,000 megawatts and tell all them car makers… “Wosss wobiii!!!! if you don’t have a plant in Nigeria… Then let Innosson motors take over your market”.
_
That’s not to say, we will resign ourselves to substandard products o. It just means the businesses get a fighting chance to survive. Without the pressures of foreign backed competition.
_
And it doesn’t stop anyone from importing. But when your foreign Toyota Camry lands Nigeria at a duties enhanced N85m, and the Nigerian Assembled one sells for N18m, autocorrect will help you.

Those Killing And Shouting ‘Allah Akbar’ Are Against God – Buhari

Those killing and shouting ?Allah Akbar? are against God ? Buhari

President Buhari on Wednesday August 14, promised to use the army and the police to counter the security challenges facing the country as he spoke against those killing and calling God’s name.

The President made the announcement while commiserating with 1,050 internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by banditry in Batsari community of Katsina state. Batsari is one of the eight front line Local Government Areas disturbed with the activities of banditry and kidnapping in Katsina state.

Buhari stated that those shouting “Allah Akbar” while killing people are doing so because they do not know God or are lying because God is not wicked.

President Buhari said “it is either they don’t know God or disagree with Him.

“What brought me here is to condole you over the recent bandit’s attacks affecting not only you but all of us. I have nothing to add on what the Emir had already spoken extensively about, but all that leaders should do right from home is ensure justice.

‘’I assure you that we sleep and wake-up with the sad moment of banditry and kidnapping activities in the state and country. By the Grace of God, we will use soldiers, police and other public servants to end banditry’.

‘’All those whose activities is to kill people and saying “Allahu Akbar” are lying because God is not wicked. You can’t carry bomb or gun, sword or knife to go and kill innocent somebody and say “Allahu Akbar”. This implies that you either don’t believe in God or you don’t know what you are saying.

‘’There is popular Hausa adage that says” it’s the rat in the house that tells the rat outside that there is fish in the house, so within yourselves, your neighbours and even your relatives there are informants.’’

‘’So in this case, both you and I don’t know them, it’s only God that knows them, we can’t do anything here rather intensity prayers for God’s intervention by exposing them’’.

Daura Residents To President Buhari ”We Only Have Light When You Are Around”

Daura residents to President Buhari

President Buhari who is currently in Daura, Katsina state, was yesterday informed by his kinsmen that they only enjoy power suppy whenever he is in town. President Buhari travelled home for the Sallah Holiday.

While receiving some of his community leaders in his home on Tuesday August 13th, one of the leaders, Mohammed Saleh, complained bitterly about the epileptic power supply they suffer whenever he is not in town. Anyone Who Says Buhari isn’t Doing Well is A Liar From The Pit of Hell – Joe Igbokwe

Anyone who says Buhari isn?t doing well is a liar from the pit of hell - Joe Igbokwe

Joe Igbokwe, the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state lashed out at President Buhari’s critics while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics  on Monday August 12.

The Lagos APC spokesperson claimed that the PDP never did anything tangible in its 16 years in power, and further added that anyone who claims President Muhammadu Buhari is not doing well is a liar from hell.

“The PDP was there for 16 years and we didn’t see anything. In the midst of plenty, I cannot lay my hands on anything,” he said.

“Support your leader, don’t be a distraction. Anybody who tells you Buhari is not doing well is a liar from the pit of hell, given where we are coming from.”

“If the president can solve all the problems of Nigeria in one day, they would have done it in the 60s. It’s a continuum.

“As the population is growing, the problem will continue to grow. As Nigeria is growing, the problem will continue to grow. So problems will never disappear from the face of the earth” he added.

Joe Igbokwe was however countered on the programme by Ken Olugbo, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Though he admitted that the PDP made mistakes in some areas, he however stated that they performed much more better than the present Buhari-led administration.

“I can’t condemn entirely everything that President Muhammadu Buhari has done. I have said it and I have tried to always be objective,” he said.

“But Igbokwe must admit that we are hungry. Nigerians are hungry. The economy is bad. We need to move to a next level (of economic prosperity).”

“I am not saying we had a perfect government, let us stop that blame game. We have passed that era of the blame game.

“We have always said it that PDP’s government isn’t perfect. In fact, Secondus apologised to Nigerians. For somebody to apologise, does that not tell you that we didn’t do well in a lot of areas?

“But we are looking at it. When you marry two wives, you compare the two wives. You have married the PDP, now you are married to the APC. Now Nigerians can see for themselves. We did better than what we are currently seeing” he added.

Violent Extremism is The Greatest Challenge Facing Islam – Buhari

Violent extremism is the greatest challenge facing Islam ? Buhari

President Buhari in his Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims, stated that the greatest challenge facing Islam is violent extremism.

Admonishing Muslims to keep off from teachings that promote violence against innocent people, President Buhari maintained that Islam is a religion of peace that has been given a bad name through extremist ideas.

The President in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mallam Garba Shehu, said “the greatest commitment to Islam is for Muslims to put its good virtues into practice, and by making justice and righteousness the guiding principle of their everyday life.

President Buhari explained that “we should be the mirror through which others see the good virtues of our faith.’’ According to him, “Islam is a religion of peace and we should avoid violent extremist ideas that give Islam a wrong name because our conduct leave more lasting positive impressions than what we say by word of mouth.’’

The President regretted that “violent extremism is the greatest challenge facing Islam today and the only way we can neutralise its evil influence is to distance ourselves from the activities and teachings of those who preach indiscriminate violence against innocent people. And this flies in the face of the teachings of Islam.’’

He advised parents to “protect their children from the deadly exposure to violent extremists who manipulate and exploit those children for their own evil agenda.’’ President Buhari noted that “Boko Haram became a deadly force and a major security scourge because Muslim societies were indifferent from the beginning to the activities of extremist preachers who manipulate innocent and gullible followers.’’

He said that “extremism is like a cancer, which must be detected and destroyed from its early stages of growth.’’ The President, however, assured Nigerians that the Boko Haram terrorism, kidnappings and other forms of banditry “would be dealt with uncompromisingly until we see the back of these evils plaguing our country.’’

“Despite occasional setbacks’’, the President explained that “the Boko Haram militants have been so militarily weakened and scattered by our Armed Forces that they are no longer in a position to occupy any part of Nigeria, let alone hoist their flag and impose their reign of terror longer than 24 hours.’’

“As our armed forces get more equipped and trained, in addition to being more motivated and reinvigorated, this administration is relentlessly committed to protecting Nigerians no matter what it takes to bring a permanent end to this evil,’’ the President further assured Nigerians. He advised Muslims to be tolerant and continue to work for peace, unity, national integration, and peaceful coexistence.

President Muhammadu Buhari has tendered an apology to members of the national assembly over a row with security personnel earlier on Thursday.

Led by Senate President Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara, the legislators went to the presidential villa for a meeting with Buhari.

Sources gathered that the meeting was about the 2018 budget. However, they reportedly left the villa in anger after security operatives insisted on screening them.

Buhari later reached out to them but majority of the lawmakers had left the residence of Saraki where they converged after the embarrassing encounter.

Saraki and Dogara returned to Aso Rock and were hosted to a dinner. Abba Kyari, chief of staff to the president, alongside Ita Enang and Sulaiman Kawu, presidential aides, attended the dinner.

Sources learnt that Buhari instructed Kyari to collect the names of all the principal officers of both chambers of the national assembly and ensure tags are issued to them ahead of the meeting rescheduled to Tuesday.

Governor Okorocha Criticises President Buhari For The First Time

Okorocha made the allegation in a statement issued by his Senior Special Adviser on Youth Affairs, Kenneth Emelu, during a one-day youth forum, convenned by the National Orientation Agency, NOA, and the state government in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

The Imo governor asserted that the Buhari-led administration has done to little to recognise the youths.

According to him,

We need a clear format of what the Federal Government can do to sustain the growth of the youths.

“The youths are not happy about what is happening in Nigeria. The youths are saying they are not being carried along in the scheme of things.

“The youths are saying that there is no welfare for them. What I am saying is that the government I represent should try to liaise with these youths so that we can have a clear idea of what the youths want.

“The Federal, state and local governments should listen to the agitations by the youths.

Rochas Okorocha Supports Buhari For 2019, Calls Nnamdi Kanu A “Mad Man”

Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has taken a swipe at the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, calling him a mad man.

Rochas Okorocha said this during an interview with the Sun news where he also stated that he would support president Muhammadu Buhari should the President contest in the 2019 Presidential election.

“These young men seeking relevance as a livelihood and to tell you how daft some people can be, any mad man can just rise one day and lead a senseless agitation and he’d get followers.

“Even the way IPOB was handled by the government wasn’t right. I kept telling the government that this young man, Kanu Nnamdi, is inconsequential in the matter- treat him like who he really is.

“But now he’d been given some national attention branding the whole Igbo as IPOB members and it’s the reason for the quit notice some gave our people in the North. The matter is laughable. You cannot imagine me, Rochas being asked by IPOB that let’s go to war and I follow.

“That’s the greatest insult to people of the east. Even if you come today and start a church you name ‘Kill Every Human Being Church’, some people will still join you. There are always people for everything you do. I would have handled it differently.”

“I have so many windows open in 2019 as I wait for Mr. President to make his declaration, I want to be politically relevant and I have made the decision never to watch my country sink”, Okorocha told Sun.

On his support for President Buhari, he stated: “If President Buhari declares to run for the office again in 2019, I will support him, because the man has a character to develop Nigeria. He has a thick skin that we need.

“We have a faulty foundation and I see President Buhari as that man who can build the foundation that we need. But I don’t see him as someone who will build this nation with a fantastic finishing with nice furniture.

“He’s just going to build a solid foundation upon which success and prosperity for the land shall be accomplished. And that’s where people like me would come in.”

‘Buhari Has Fulfilled Campaign Promises To Nigerians’ – Lai Mohammed

Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed says President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has fulfilled its campaign promises to Nigerians.

The minister, in an interview with Vanguard, said the federal government had been able to decimate the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists.

Mohammed added that terrorism is a global threat, saying that life has returned to normal in Borno state, which was hitherto under the siege of the dreaded group.

“I thank God for the privilege of serving as a minister of information and culture. I can see that in under two and a half years, that this government has delivered largely on all its promises,” the minister said.

“I will start with insecurity. When we came in 2015, there were 24 local governments in this country that were under the sovereign control of Boko Haram. Today, as I speak, not one local government is under the control of Boko Haram. Boko Haram has been decapitated. Boko Haram has been thoroughly degraded; they can no longer function as a parallel army as they were doing.”

Speaking further, he said: “for us, it is a triumph that we have been able to subdue Boko Haram, their territorial ambition has been cut short, life has returned to normal in most parts of the Northeast today.”

I Am Satisfied With The Mutually Beneficial Cooperation Between Nigeria And China – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed delight at the mutually beneficial cooperation that exists between Nigeria and China.

In a statement on Saturday, October 14, by his special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the president congratulated China for “becoming an indispensable force in the comity of nations.”

The congratulatory message was contained letter Buhari sent to President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, on the occasion of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The letter read in part: “On behalf of the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I have the pleasure to send our warmest congratulations to you and through you to all the 2287 delegates and the 89 million party members on the auspicious occasion of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

“It is my firm belief that the 19th National Congress of CPC will be a new starting point in the history of China, and it will usher in a new period of great accomplishment for your Party and the nation.

“The leadership of CPC is understood to be the defining feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China has made remarkable progress under the leadership of CPC and remains an inspiration to developing countries and the whole world. In the past 30 years and more, over 700 million Chinese have been lifted out of poverty, creating a Chinese miracle in the history of poverty reduction.

“As you often say, ‘Empty talk harms the country, while hard work makes it flourish.’ Under the strong and focused leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Your Excellency as its core, the CPC has continuously guided the Chinese people to achieve the Two Centenary Goals and realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, while China is becoming an indispensable force in the comity of nations. Indeed, I am satisfied with the mutually beneficial cooperation between Nigeria and China.

“While expecting the delivery of policy guidelines and framework for China’s development and foreign relations in the next 5 years and beyond, and the election of a new CPC Central Committee, we wish the 19th National Congress of the CPC a complete success.”

He made the comment during a press briefing with his Nigerian counterpart, Geoffrey Onyeama, adding that this money was in addition to $22 billion projects already invested.

Revealed: Every Nigerian President Since 1999 Has Been Accidental

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, has stated that every leader Nigeria has had since the transition from military rule has been an accidental one.

Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua, Goodluck Jonathan and Buhari have all taken on Nigeria’s highest office in this time.

He was speaking at the 2016/2017 Matriculation and Fellowship Endowment ceremony of National Institute for Legislative Studies, NILS, in Abuja,

He rued Nigeria’s leadership recruitment process and blamed it for the accidental leadership problem in the country.

According to Na’Abba,

Circumstances at hand or situations on ground have, to a large extent, overdetermined who and who was elected into office in Nigeria as President since 1999, against level of preparedness on the part of the leaders in terms of clear vision and programmes obtainable in most democracies of the world, culminating in accidental leadership for the country.

“I believe that not just the legislature, but every arm of government serving the purpose of governance, must invest in exposing democracy to the people.

“It is a sad commentary on our political life that today, recruitment into leadership has been subverted by a few politicians because they deny Nigerians opportunity to contest elections and achieve their aspirations through the systematic appropriation of political parties to themselves.

“These politicians have stopped the growth of democracy. And it is true that unless democracy is allowed to grow, we cannot achieve the desired political growth, we cannot achieve the desired economic growth and we can also not achieve the desired social growth in our country.

“That is why we are still in political, economic and social doldrums. We have been having successive accidental leaders since 1999.

“We have been advocating that tutorials must be taking place on a continuous basis for stakeholders in democracy, from the local governments to the states.

Fani-Kayode Blast Buhari For Telling World Bank To Focus On The North

Recall, World bank president, Jim Yong Kim had disclosed;

You know, in my very first meeting with President Buhari he said specifically that he would like us to shift our focus to the northern region of Nigeria and we’ve done that.

Now, it has been very difficult. The work there has been very difficult.

Now, Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken to social media to blast President Muhammadu Buhari, following the news that he told the World Bank president, Kim Yong Jim, to focus on Northern Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode, expressed his criticism in a series of tweets on Friday morning

He alleged that Buhari regards Nigerians from the South and Middle Belt regions as “low-lifes, vassals and slaves”.

Fani-Kayode’s tweeted;

President of the World Bank, Kim Yong Jim, has said that @MBuhari told him to concentrate their efforts on northern Nigeria.

Why am I not surprised? After all as far as @MBuhari is concerned southern Nigerians and Middle Belters are nothing but low-lifes, vassals and slaves.

Buhari Told Us To Provide Help Only To Nothern Part Of Nigeria – World Bank President

The president of World bank Jim Yong Kim has made it public that buhari ordered him to focus on rendering help to the North Nigeria Only.

Kim and the Managing Director, International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, gave the president a candid advise to also invest in things that would enhance economic growth.

Kim said:-

You know, in my very first meeting with President Buhari he said specifically that he would like us to shift our focus to the northern region of Nigeria and we’ve done that. Now, it has been very difficult. The work there has been very difficult.

“I think Nigeria, of course, has suffered from the dropping oil prices. I think things are just now getting better.

But the conversation we need to have with Nigeria, I think, is in many ways related to the theme that I brought to the table just this past week, which is an investment in human capital.

The percentage of the Gross Domestic Product that Nigeria spends on healthcare is less than one percent.”

He added, “Despite that, there is so much turbulence in the northern part of the country, and there is the hit that was taken from the drop in the oil prices. Nigeria has to think ahead and invest in its people.

Investing in the things that will allow Nigeria to be a thriving, rapidly growing economy in the future is what the country has to focus on right now.”

Kim also said, “Focusing on the northern part of Nigeria, we hope that as commodity prices stabilise and oil prices come back up, the economy will grow a bit more.

But very, very much important is the need to focus on what the drivers of growth in the future will be.”

According to the World Bank boss, the bank will invest in human capital in other parts of Africa in order to prepare the continent for the next phase of growth.

Lagarde, in her remarks, said Sub-Saharan African countries, including Nigeria, had posted suboptimal growth in recent times.

The growth figures, she said, were far too small considering the huge demographic potential of Nigeria and other countries in the region.

As a result, she said the IMF would be engaging ministers of finance and central bank governors from the region attending the annual World Bank and IMF meetings on how they could boost and stabilise economic growth.

Lagarde said, “The Sub-Saharan Africa is one region of the world where growth is suboptimal. Those countries grow at an average growth of 2.5 percent. That is too low for the demographic expansion of the region.

Ibe Kachikwu Meets President Buhari Over ‘Explosive’ Letter On NNPC Crisis

President Buhari is meeting Ibe Kachikwu few days after a memo sent by the minister to the president on NNPC boss’ alleged corruption was leaked to the media.

The Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, will meet President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa today (Thursday) at 11:30 a.m.

The meeting is coming two days after a memo sent by the minister to the president, complaining about insubordination and alleged corruption by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, was leaked to the media.

The minister is expected to further discuss the allegations with the president at Thursday’s meeting.

The meeting between the president and Kachikwu is expected to focus on the content of his memo which could instigate the probing of Baru.

A source close to the presidency who spoke on the issue said: “The President will have a fact-finding session with Kachikwu on some of the claims in his August 30 memo. The President and cabinet members were shocked by the issues raised by the minister.

“This audience is already in the schedule of the President today. Kachikwu will have the opportunity to explain what went wrong in the NNPC and the insubordination of the GMD.

“For instance, the issue of lack of access to the President and sidelining him are really strange. Buhari wants to go into the details.”

“President Buhari does not condone indiscipline. There is a high probability that some of the allegations were not brought to his notice.

“The real questions are: Why did GMD Baru sideline his supervising Minister? How did Baru get approval for the contracts? Could he have misled the government with a cover-up memo? Did anybody or group take advantage of the President’s medical trip?

“The presidency may probe these allegations against Baru.

“The Presidency will certainly not spare the rod and the President is determined to get to the root of the $25billion contracts.”

Buhari Should Dialogue With Respectable Igbo Leaders, Not Kanu – APC Chief

Tunde Ajibulu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday said President Muhammadu Buhari should dialogue with respectable leaders in the South East to find a lasting solution to the current agitation in the region.

He however disagreed with those asking the president to dialogue with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) saying Kanu who is currently in hiding after the Operation Python Dance exercise in Abia state is a lily-livered charlatan and opportunist.

It will be recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjohad advised President Buhari to dialogue with Kanu.

The former president in an interview with the Newsweek Magazine, had said there is nothing wrong in having a discussion with the aggrieved group.

According to him : “I don’t see anything wrong in that [Buhari meeting with Kanu]. I would not object to that; if anything, I would encourage it. “I would want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him, people of his age, [and ask:] ‘What are your worries?’ Not only from the southeast but from all parts of Nigeria.”

However, many Nigerians said it is hypocritical of Obasanjo to call for dialogue, a measure he didn’t take during his tenure as President especially as regards Odi in Bayelsa and Zaki Biam in Benue state.

Ajibulu, who spoke in an interview with sources, said “Desperate times calls for desperate measures. These are real desperate times, we must crush charlatans attempting to destabilise and sow division in our country”.

“With all due respect to President Obasanjo, I believe he is right to an extent. I think President Buhari has to dialogue but that must be done with respected and distinguished people in Igbo land; not with riff raffs like Kanu.

Who is he? What is he? What are his antecedents? He is a lily livered charlatan and opportunist who has started showing his true colours” he said.

President Buhari Leaves New York For London Today

President Muhammadu Buhari has departed New York, where he attended the 72nd UN General Assembly, for the United Kingdom.

Mr. Buhari was in New York to join other world leaders for the one week UNGA high-level events that started on Tuesday,

He was accompanied by Governors Abdul’aziz Yari, David Umahi and Rotimi Akeredolu of Zamfara, Ebonyi and Ondo states respectively.

Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, did however not say whether Mr. Buhari was going back to the U.K to resume medical treatment.

Buhari Presidential Ambition Speculative – APC

Even though some persons and groups have started campaigning for the President, Muhammadu Buhari to run in 2019, the ruling party has stated that Buhari’s Presidential ambition is speculative.

According to the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the Presidential ‎ambition of President Buhari is speculative and the party would not respond to such issue.

Since the return of President Buhari from his medical trip in London, many groups and some persons have started campaigning for him as APC presidential candidate in 2019.

It would be recalled that the New Telegraph had reported that since Buhari came back from his medical trip, some APC chieftains hitherto warming up for Presidential ambition have buried their ambitions.

Such persons were alleged to be former vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso, governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kazzim Shettima and Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.

They had already started forming political alliances with some Southern politicians.

But speaking on President Buhari’s ambition for 2019, APC spokesperson said the party would not comment on such issue since it was speculative.

Abdullahi maintained that the President had not told anybody that he would be contesting for the 2019 Presidential election.

According to him, it is only when the President indicates an interest for the 2019 President ticket of APC, that the party would know if it would support him or not.

Asked if APC would support the Presidential ambition of President Buhari in 2019, Abdullahi said, “that is speculative.

“We can’t be reacting on speculative issues. It is only when the President indicates interest to run for 2019 that the party would speak on whether to support him or not.

How PDP Caused Buhari’s Illness

The monumental corruption occasioned on Nigeria during the tenure of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ]was what caused President Muhammed Buhari’s illness.

According to Chief Modestus Umenzekwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, the N11 trillion stolen from the power sector alone is enough to make an anti-corruption crusader unwell.

Umenzekwe, in a statement said the visit of the Presidential Media Team to the President in London, earlier this month, exposed the lies fed to Nigerians by critics about his health and the economy.

The statement reads: “The visit exposed the opposition and their cohorts of the kind of thoughts that ruled Nigerians for 16 years. President Buhari’s ill health was caused the monumental heap of corruption that he met when he assumed duty.

“In the power sector alone over N11 trillion was spent and yet nothing to show for it. What the APC government met under power is enough to give Buhari ill health.

“Look at the findings in the Ministry of Petroleum where someone accumulated wealth of over three nations put together. What about bad road. Today the entire Apapa, in Lagos is being closed down for one year for full road reconstruction.

“The road network is in shamble up to Tincan Island Ports. That is why the pressure from those calling for restructuring of Nigeria is on the rise.

“When people are talking about change, I laugh because the true meaning of change is nothing but creating a very congenial atmosphere in the state administration. What has Buhari inherited from his predecessors, nothing. Where is Nigerian Airways, Nigerian National Shipping Line, National Electric Power Authority. Most of these were fraudulently privatized. What are the benefits the nation derived from such privatization?

“What has happened to the old National Assembly Complex at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, the National Stadium, Tafawa Balewa Square, The National Arts Theatre, The Nigerian Telecommunication (NITEL). They have all gone into oblivion. They are either sold away or completely abandoned to decay. They are now gathering to takeover governance in 2019 when we are yet to clean the mess they made. They are all dreamers.”

“You Have Nothing To Show For 2 Years” – Kaduna Catholic Bishops Blast Buhari, APC

Catholic Bishops in the Kaduna Ecclesiastical Province have attacked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government over the state of the country’s economy.

The bishops called on the government to adopt viable ways of healing the injuries inflicted on the citizens.

According to the bishops, for more than two years after taking over government, the All Progressives Congress, APC, had not brought measurable improvement on the welfare of Nigerians.

They noted that “The APC-led government did not take advantage of the opportunities that our last elections presented us. Our people entrusted them with their hopes and voted across religion and region.”

This is part of a communique signed and made available to reporters by the Chairman of the Province, Archbishop Mathew Ndagoso, and Secretary, Bishop John Niyiring, after its second plenary meeting in Minna.

The bishops said, “We are saddened by the fact that after over two years, there are still no measurable changes in the welfare of our people. The recession has not abated, the lives of ordinary people continue to hang in a balance as insecurity ravages the land.

The party in power remains riddled in internal infighting and has thus lost a sense of moral direction and urgency.

“Sadly, very little has happened to assure Nigerians that they have a stake in their own country .

“We cannot successfully go into the next (2019 ) election circle in this state siege.

“Military presence cannot provide peace for our people, only a responsible leadership with a sense of humility and respect can provide the space for our people to rebuild their lives.

Businesses are closing down, abandoned projects litter everywhere, retired pensioners still wait in vain for their pensions, workers’ salaries remain unpaid, health facilities and public services continue to deteriorate and life remains hazardous for citizens.

“The nation can now feel the accumulated impact of this frustration in the agitations among the various groups.

“We call on our political officials to make hay while there is still a little shadow of sunshine . Perhaps more than any single group, the youth did more to bring this government to power, but they have become its victims. Sadly, very sadly, the lot of our youths has not changed.

Unemployment still looms, a culture of strikes still endangers the future education of many young people. With the young people making up well over 50 per cent of our population, we are sitting on a keg of gunpowder.

“Resolving the problems through dialogue, our politicians continue to treat the victims as aggressors.

“We appeal to our people to work assiduously through dialogue and just compromises to resolve perceived imbalances and structural deficiencies in the system.”
