Drake Reveals How He Got To Know About ‘Ikebe’ And ‘Bakassi’ He Said in Swae Lee’s ‘Won’t Be Late’ Song Which Tekno Produced

Drake reveals how he got to know about

One of the highlight of yesterday was Swae Lee’s ‘Won’t be late’ hit which Drake got featured in being released.

Asides the surprise of Nigerian superstar singer Tekno producing the song, Drake stunningly ‘went foreign’ with ‘Ikebe and Bakassi’. Part of the Canadian rapper’s verse on the hit song was ‘Ikebe, pressing on me heavy, Pressing up against me real close. Bakasi, moving on me’.

Drake went on to reveal how he got to know about the Nigerian slangs for a*s after the song became some fans’ favourite, in an exchange with a Nigerian Instagram user. The rapper said he made some research on his own even though Tekno brought life to it by changing the riddim.

Here is a screenshot of the exchange with a Nigerian fan;

Drake In My Feelings

Drizzy Drake debuts the official visuals for his track ‘In My Feelings’ off his ‘Scorpion’ Album after several challenges on social media.

Drake’s Scorpion may not be a perfect album for some listeners but as expected, the double disc set has spawned three number 1 singles already — ‘God’s Plan‘, ‘Nice For What‘ and the latest one ‘In My Feelings’.
The Lil Wayne sampled and City Girls-assisted song received a big boost by a dance challenge started by Instagrammer Shiggy who showcased some moves to the song in a post.
The trend went viral almost instantly and before we knew it, celebrities from Kevin Hart and Will Smith to Ciara started doing their versions of the dance on their social media channels. Drizzy later thanked Shiggy publicly for helping him achieve another number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Music: Drake – Signs (Lost Version) Ft. Young Thug

Drake’s Lost Version of ‘Signs’ surfaces online featuring Young Thug. The era of constant leaks of songs from high profile artists is pretty much gone but mysterious group Music Mafia seems to be making an attempt to bring it back. In the past, they have unearthed songs from artists such as Justin Biever, Drake, Kanye West, J. Cole and many more. The original version that was released to the public was created specially for Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2018 collection in June, 2017. The interesting part was that Young Thug was officially credited as a writer on the track. Many believed that Thugger wrote Drake’s entire part but there was never a confirmation of that. It looks like there was one version of the song with both Thug and Drizzy performing on the Noah “40” Shebib-produced instrumental that never got released.

Listen To Wizkid’s Deleted Verse From Drake’s One Dance

One Dance is a massive record on which Drake featured Wizkid and Kyla Reid. The song is one of the commercially successful songs off Drake’s Views album and its success extends to the Billboard Music Awards, where it won multiple awards.

Nigerian music superstar, Wizkid has been duly credited and awarded for writing the rave single but it appears he actually wrote and recorded a verse for the song that somehow failed to make the final cut. The Starboy only had minimal vocal contribution on the publicized version of the One Dance song.

However, a video in which an unshared version of the song with Wizkid’s original verse playing audibly, has surfaced on the internet suggesting that Drake deleted Wizkid’s verse from the One Dance song he put out and that we are familiar with.

Drake Promises The Weeknd Collaboration Album “Has To Happen”

While both Drake and The Weeknd have enjoyed long and lucrative careers as solo artists, the fans know they have a musical chemistry that works wonders. In fact, Abel has previously told Zane Lowe that he would be open for a collaboration with Drake, comparing the potential joint endeavor to Watch The Throne, the acclaimed brainchild of Kanye and Jay-Z. Seeing as The Weeknd and Drake are two of the biggest artists in the world, the album would inevitably break at least one streaming records.

Well, fans might not have to wait much longer. At Drake’s star-studded OVO Fest, Aubrey and Abel joined forces to perform “Starboy,” “The Hills,” and “Crew Love,” the track that basically started it all. After the performance, Drake basically pulled the “we should hang out more” card, much to the delight of the sold-out crowd.

“I want you to understand what this is,” begins Drizzy. “First of all, I don’t want to do this to you on stage, but I feel like that OVOXO project has to happen at some point. I just want to say that.”

The crowd responds as you’d expect, with riotous applause. Ultimately, nothing may come of this at all, but at least both parties acknowledged that they’re willing and able to make it happen. Check out footage of the pseudo-announcement below.

Drake Jokingly Responds To Jay-Z’s Criticism Of The “Money Phone” Pose

“What they say? Don’t put money to your ear? Oh, I didn’t hear that.”

Jay-Z’s 4:44 contained many lessons for rap’s younger generation, but one particular line about the popular “money phone” pose has garnered a considerable reaction. “Y’all on the ‘gram holdin’ money to your ear,” said Jay on “The Story Of O.J.” “There’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here.”

It’s already been speculated that Future had a subliminal response to the line, and now Drake has come with his own light-hearted take on the criticism.

A video has made its way online of Drake pressing two fat stacks of cash to his ears and seemingly joking about Jay’s bar. “What they say? Don’t put money to your ear? Oh, I didn’t hear that,” he says with a grin. Now that Drake and Future have each thrown their support behind the “money phone” pose, it might not be going away anytime soon.

Drake was eager to hear Jay-Z’s 4:44 album the night it dropped, reportedly requesting the project to be played over the speakers in a Baltimore restaurant he was eating at. It’s often been speculated that Drake and Jay-Z have taken subliminal shots at one another on record, most recently with a few vague bars Hov rapped on DJ Khaled’s “Shining.”

Did Wizkid Really Make 72 Million Naira From Come Closer Video?

According to music video director, Adasa Cookey, Starboy Wizkid made a huge amount from the streaming of hit singles Come Closer feat. Drake and My Love.

Despite the obvious fact that Drake didn’t appear for the video shoot, it still raked about 33 million views on YouTube.

Adasa Cookey in a post he shared on his Instagram said Wizkid made over 55 million hits from Come Closer and My Love on popular streaming app Spotify, which by the way is not available to Nigerian users.

The only tricky part of Adasa’s post is that he said ‘My Love’ and there is no such song on Wizkid’s latest album (SFTOS).

The ace director has since deleted the post but trust Nigerians to quickly take a screenshot.

Come Closer Fall Out: Wizkid Unfollows Drake On Instagram

Despite working on two different records together, Starboy Wizkid seems to be moving on from Canadian rapper, Drake.

Earlier today, Wizkid unfollowed Drake on Instagram to prove truly he is tired of the cold shoulders he has been getting from the rapper.

Recall that Drake failed to appear in the two videos shot for Come Closer, a track off the birthday boy’s EP (Sounds From The Other Side).

With the latest development, does this mean that Wizkid has finally given up on communicating with the rapper?

Watch President Obama Dance To Drake’s “Hotline Bling” At White House BET Party

Judging by his playlists, we know that Barack Obama has pretty good taste in music for a president, and he lived up to his reputation at BET’s “Love and Happiness” event, hosted Friday night on the White House’s south lawn. The concert hosted performances from Jill Scott, Usher, the Roots, Janelle Monáe, De La Soul, and more, but the true highlight came when Barack joined his guests on the dancefloor.

A clip filmed by Usher has made the internet rounds today, showing Barack letting loose and dancing to Drake’s “Hotline Bling” among a crowd that includes Janelle Monáe and other performers. Pitchfork notes that comedian attendee James Poyser caught Barack dabbing with Usher at one point in the night, though unfortunately we’ve yet to see video evidence. Obama also had a zinger during his official speech at the event, joking, “There will be no twerking tonight. At least not by me. I don’t know about Usher.”

Watch both the clip of Obama’s dance moves and his intro to Jill Scott’s performance below.

Drake Makes It Clear Who He’s Siding With In The Game & Meek Mill Beef

Drake decided to promote The Game’s album while he and Meek Mill were exchanging disses.

As The Game and Meek Millwage war on Instagram, Drake has decided to make his allegiances clear — and they shouldn’t surprise anyone. Drizzy posted the cover art to The Game’s upcoming project, 1992, just after Game and Meek Mill were going at each other, once again suggesting that Drake and Meek will not be burying the hatchet anytime soon.

Yes, technically this could be a coincidence, but given the level of calculation behind most of Drake’s moves, it’s hard to believe it’s an accident.

Game has been threatening to beat Meek Mill up over the last few days, suggesting that Meek mentioned his name to the cops — though the exact incident he’s referring to has not yet been confirmed (TMZ has reported that it could be linked to a June robbery at an LA nightclub).

Meek has since accused The Game of stirring the pot in an attempt to promote his album, and the two have been exchanging words throughout the day today. Of course, Drake and Meek Mill’s problems stem back from some ghostwriting accusations levelled at Drizzy last year, but you all know that story by now.

Check out Drake’s post below. Did he need to step into this?

Wizkid Wrote One Dance – Seyi Shay

Singer, Seyi Shay, has come under massive fire after claiming Wizkid wrote Canadian rapper, drake’s mega hit song, ‘One Dance.

Seyi, who is presently in Jamaica sat down for an interview last night with Onstage TV, where she talked about the song.

Upon being asked about the said song, Seyi Shay replied saying the song was actually originaly written by Wizkid, contrary to what everyone else thinks.

This claim almost immediately got to Wizkid, who in no time took to twitter asking her to shut up as she knows nothing about what she just said.

The same debate is going on in Africa right now, that he sampled an Afrobeat. That song is actually Wizkid’s song .So it’s not Drake’s song. I don’t know if I can talk about this but Wizkid wrote it, Legendary Beatz did the beat and some other Nigerian producers produced it as an Afrobeats song and they stripped a lot of the music away and just left the rhythm”.
