Borussia Dortmund Midfielder Jadon Sancho Agrees New £190k-A-Week Contract

Jadon Sancho moved to Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City for about £10m in August 2017

Borussia Dortmund’s England winger Jadon Sancho has agreed a new contract with the Bundesliga club worth about £190,000 a week, including bonuses.

The 19-year-old, who was the subject of summer interest from Manchester United, scored 13 goals last season as Dortmund finished second behind Bayern Munich.

Sancho also scored in their opening league game this term – Saturday’s 5-1 win over Augsburg.

Signed from Manchester City in 2017, his previous deal ran until 2022.

Sancho, who was part of Watford’s academy before joining City, made his England debut against Croatia in October 2018 and has six caps.

Philippe Coutinho: Barcelona Midfielder Set For Bayern Munich Loan Move

Philippe Coutinho has made 55 appearances for Brazil

Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho is set to join Bayern Munich on a season-long loan.

The Brazil international, 27, was left out of Barcelona’s squad for their La Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao on Friday.

“We can confirm that there is an agreement in principle for the loan of Coutinho to Bayern,” said Barcelona club director Guillermo Amor before the match.

“We just have to finalise the deal.”

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed the two clubs and Coutinho had reached an agreement as he spoke after the Bundesliga champions’ 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin on Friday.

“Only a few details are still to be sorted out,” he said. “We are very happy that we will bring this player to Bayern.”

Coutinho, who was in the crowd for Barcelona’s La Liga opener, joined the club from Liverpool in a £142m deal in January 2018.

Despite scoring 21 goals in 76 appearances for the Spanish giants, he has fallen short of expectations and been linked with several clubs this summer.

It is believed he was included as part of a bid by Barcelona to re-sign Neymar from Paris St-Germain, the Spanish club reportedly willing to offer 100m euros (£92.4m) plus Coutinho for the forward.

Tottenham ended their interest in a loan deal for Coutinho earlier this month, while he was also linked with moves to Arsenal and back to Liverpool.

Wesley Sneijder: Former Real Madrid, Inter Milan And Netherlands Midfielder Retires

Wesley Sneijder inherited the number 23 shirt from David Beckham when he moved to Real Madrid in 2007

Former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder has retired after a 17-year career.

The 35-year-old played a Dutch record 134 times for his country and featured in the 2010 World Cup final.

In a trophy-laden career he won a La Liga title in Spain with Real Madrid and went on to win Serie A, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia treble at Inter Milan in 2009-10.

Sneijder has taken up a new role with his hometown club FC Utrecht.

“Now I’ve retired from football I want a nice place to share my memories. My connection to the town is big,” Sneijder told the Dutch club’s YouTube channel.

A product of the Ajax youth system, Sneijder won the Eredivisie title and two Dutch Cups in Amsterdam before switching to Real Madrid for £23m in 2007.

He helped the Spanish giants win the league in his first season at the Bernabeu and moved on to Italy to become a key figure in Jose Mourinho’s Inter side that won the treble.

His club career in Europe also took him to Galatasaray in Turkey and French club Nice before he finished playing at Al Gharafa in Qatar’s top-flight.

On the international stage Sneijder collected a World Cup runners-up medal in 2010 in South Africa as the Oranje were beaten by Spain in the final.

His displays earned him the Silver Ball for the tournament’s second best player behind Uruguay’s Diego Forlan and four years later he helped Louis van Gaal’s side finish third in Brazil.

Man City Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan Signs New Contract To 2023

Ilkay Gundogan scored a penalty in Manchester City’s penalty shootout win over Liverpool in the Community Shield

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has signed a new four-year contract until 2023.

After lengthy negotiations, the Germany international, 28, agreed fresh terms with the Premier League champions last week and signed the deal on Thursday.

City and manager Pep Guardiola see him as a key part of their plans as he enters what should be the peak years of his career.

Gundogan’s previous contract at Etihad Stadium had a year to run.

He joined City from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for £25m in 2016.

Despite suffering two serious knee injuries, the former Nuremberg player has won five major trophies, scoring 17 goals in 115 appearances for City.

Spurs Agree Deal For Betis Midfielder Giovani lo Celso

Lo Celso could reportedly cost Spurs close to £60m

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Real Betis to sign midfielder Giovani lo Celso.

They hope to complete a deal for the 23-year-old Argentina international, who could cost close to £60m, before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Spurs are continuing talks with Fulham to sign 19-year-old left-back Ryan Sessegnon.

But the club have ended their interest in Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Spurs had been considering a loan move for the 27-year-old Brazilian, who joined Barca from Liverpool in a deal worth £142m in January 2018.

Coutinho worked with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino during a loan spell with Espanyol in 2012.

He has scored 21 goals in 76 appearances for Barcelona but has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer.

Arsenal, Paris St-Germain and former employers Liverpool were among the clubs linked with a move for the playmaker.

Lo Celso, who has 19 caps for Argentina, only joined Betis on a permanent deal in April after spending the season on loan from Paris St-Germain. He made 45 appearances for the La Liga club in all competitions last season, scoring 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Spurs could be set to lose midfielder Christian Eriksen as the 27-year-old Denmark international is understood to want a fresh challenge after six years at White Hart Lane.

Eriksen was linked with a move to Manchester United but the Old Trafford club have ended their pursuit of him.

The Premier League transfer window closes at 17:00 BST on Thursday.

Man Utd Hold Talks With Tottenham Midfielder Christian Eriksen But Think He Favours La Liga Move

Christian Eriksen joined Spurs for £12.5m from Dutch side Ajax in 2013

Manchester United have held talks with Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen but believe he wants to move to Spain.

Eriksen, 27, has scored 66 goals in 277 appearances for Spurs, but said in June he might be keen on a new challenge.

United have halted discussions with the Dane, who has one year left on his Tottenham contract and has previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

The Old Trafford club have spent £140m this summer on Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.

United remain in talks with other potential targets, but the Premier League transfer window closes at 17:00 BST so they acknowledge the chance of completing any more deals is not high.
